About Ecoutearth
Our Creation Story

On the spring equinox of 2011, Karina Colliat lay barefoot on the ground as the wind roared around her. A therapist trained in Expressive Arts and Ecopsychology, she felt called to slow down and listen. The earth seemed to answer back.
In the days after the earthquake in Japan, Karina had wondered if humans—like animals—could sense the land’s rhythms more deeply. That night she realized it wasn’t about prediction, but about relationship. Balance and harmony come through listening.
From this moment, Ecoutearth was born. Écouter means “to listen” in French. Karina began a practice of pausing in nature, noticing with all the senses, and expressing those experiences through art, movement, and words. Soon she invited others to join her, gathering in redwood forests and local parks to slow down and reconnect with the earth.
Today, Ecoutearth remains her ongoing invitation: Listen. Remember your place in the living world. The earth is speaking—will you hear it?
